Maya Sozer is a Turkish-American abstract painter based in Asheville, North Carolina. She creates nature art, using natural materials, ink, and watercolors to capture the textures and spirit of the natural world. Her work reflects the belief that the more we connect with nature, the more we connect with ourselves—because we are nature.

She documents and shares her artistic journey on Instagram and YouTube, inviting others into her creative process. She also leads a nature art community on Patreon, fostering a space for connection and exploration through art. With a background in visual arts from the Art Institute in Sunnyvale, California, her deep love for the outdoors profoundly shapes her work.

By immersing herself in natural environments, Maya allows the essence of nature to guide her creations. Through her art, she seeks to bridge the gap between nature and human experience, inspiring a deeper connection with both ourselves and the world around us.

Maya lost her studio at the River Arts District (RAD) during Hurricane Helene, but her art can still be found in RAD galleries. She now works from her private studio, which is open for visits by appointment.
